Little Men (story)

This was inspired by the 30th anniversary of the first moon landing and written for my son Andrew, who watched the historic event on a battered old black and white TV set while sat on my knee in the living room above the pub run by my mother. He was two years old, and I kept him up way past his bedtime so we could witness the historic occasion together. But he barely remembers the moment. Childhood is such a fleeting pleasure for a parent.

Now there is talk of returning to the moon (as of 2019), and at least one commercial outfit is planning tourists flights around the moon and back. My grandchildren, and their children, may get the chance to travel into outer space as tourists.
