Hedgehug

I’m a loveable kind of spiky creature,
Small and slow but kind,
And I yearn to show my special feature
If only I could find
Another hedgehug just like me
Who loves to hug and simply be
Herself.
But my back is very spiky,
Hug me and you might yell “Crikey!”
Unless you are a hedgehug friend
Who knows you have to carefully bend
Each spike so that in the end
We hug as hedgehugs all intend –
Gently, slowly, and with care.
But if and when and who and where?
