The white dish on the flat green plain
Tilts and then fills with cosmic rain
To drench the searching mind with this –
The universe’s ceaseless hiss.
Down spangled halls of time and space
Creation’s voices twist and race
Towards the fertile waiting mind
Of curious, questing humankind.
From that dense and hot creation
Come minds of deep imagination
That universal wisdom gain
In a white dish on a green plain.
