Balloons

See the balloons
As still as death
As
Driven by a dragon’s breath
They fail to move against the sky

Ends the roaring of inflation
Sends us soaring with elation

While those creatures of a silent world
Cetacean’s slender bulk unfurled
And brightly pearled
In every hue
Fail to move
Against a vast and deepening blue

Hung on a sigh
Of silence.
