The Doodoodo

The doodoodo calls “How do you do?”
It’s a bird with really fine manners.
But few of us knew, with hardly a clue,
It delights in collecting spanners.

When mechanics are doing what they normally do,
With a toolbox full of big spanners,
They might lose a few to the doodoodo
Which treats them like big shiny banners.

So up in a tree we might one day see
The glint of a spanner or two.
So happy we’d be, so filled up with glee,
To know it’s the nest of the great doodoodo.
